Learn skiing and boarding from the best

Norway Mountain makes it easy for you and your whole family to have fun together on the slopes. We have the largest number of instructors certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) in Michigan’s UP and Northern Wisconsin. Over half of our instructors have 20+ years of teaching experience.

Ski School

Our certified ski instructors teach all levels of skiing, including moguls and steeps. Learn the basics or get ready for your trip out west. Sign up for upper-level lessons on shaped skis: get off the flat skis and on the edges (let the ski do the work!)

Norway Mountain has snowboard instructors. Call for reservations!

Lessons and Rates

Skiter Tots Program (ages 4-9)

Skiter Tots boosts your child’s confidence and skills, plus they’ll have a great time learning. Norway Mountain has a special, enclosed Skiter Tots room located on the lower level of the lodge, as well as a separate learning zone in the beginner area. Reservations are recommended for this weekend and holiday program. Available weekdays by appointment only.

2-hour Morning Session (10:15 to 12:15) is $30 per child (ski rental is $10)

2-hour Afternoon Session (1:15 to 3:15) is $30 per child (ski rental is $10)

Combo morning & afternoon Session (10:15 to 12:15 & 1:15 to 3:15) is $50 per child (ski rental is $10).  Lunch is on your own.

Group Lessons for Skiers and Boarders (age 10 and older)

Norway Mountain Ski School instructors have the experience to improve your skills, making every minute on the slopes more enjoyable. Held hourly every day from 9 am to 1 pm. Reservations are not required.

1 ½-hour Learn To Ski is $18 per person

1 ½-hour Learn To Snowboard is $18 per person

Ski or Snowboard Private Lessons

Perhaps you’ll get more out of one-on-one instructions. Reservations are required.

1 ½-hour private lesson is $50 ($25 extra for one additional person)

2 ½-hour half-day private lesson is $80 ($25 extra for one additional person)

5-hour full-day private lesson is $150 ($25 extra for one additional person)

Beginner Special

Lift/Group Lesson/Rental

Juniors 10-18 $73 Value for just $60.
Adults 19+ $82 Value for just $70.  Upgrade to a Private Lesson for an additional $20 each.

Teach at Norway!

We’re always looking for qualified and enthusiastic ski and snowboard instructors, especially ones who are available weekday mornings. If you haven’t taught before, we will train you.

We have a special Junior Instructor Program for teens age 14-16 who want to become instructors. We require you to be a level-4 skier or good snowboarder.
